CUH Research Team Secures ₹76 Lakh Grant from ICSSR

The Central University of Haryana (CUH) is proud to announce that Dr. Devender Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Teacher Education, and his interdisciplinary research team have been awarded a prestigious research grant of ₹76 lakhs for a duration of five years by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi.
Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the University has extended heartfelt congratulations to the entire research team.

He lauded their achievement and remarked, “This research will have a meaningful impact on society & policy and contribute valuable theoretical insights to strengthen and refine the implementation of the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana.” Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University also extended his best wishes to the research team for the research project.


The title of sanctioned research project is ‘Effectiveness of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana in Respect of Quality of Training, Employment Components and its Socio-Economic Impact: A Longitudinal Study.’ This significant project aims to critically evaluate one of India’s flagship rural skill development schemes—DDU-GKY—by analyzing the quality of training, employment outcomes, and the broader socio-economic impact over time in Haryana state. The study is expected to provide valuable insights that will contribute to both policy formulation and academic discourse.


The project team is led by Dr. Devender Kumar, who serves as the Research Project Coordinator. His team includes: Professor Keshav Singh Rawat – Department of Computer Science and IT, Central University of Haryana; Professor Suneel Kumar – Department of Commerce, University of Delhi; Dr. Anil Kumar – Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, Central University of Haryana and Dr. Nidhi Bagaria – Department of Economics, Kurukshetra University.
