Admissions open in Electronic Media Department of MCU

Bhopal, 7 July Youngsters seeking career in electronic media can join professional courses being run by the Department of Electronic Media of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Bhopal. Online admission process has begun in this regard by the Asia’s first journalism university.

Head of Electronic Media Department Prof. (Dr.) Shrikant Singh said that the courses of the department are capable of meeting out increasing demand of professionals for electronic, digital and entertainment media. Career prospects in television and entertainment sectors are bright as demand of skilled professional is on the rise.

The department is running courses – MA (Broadcast Journalism) and. M Sc. (Electronic Media) and B. Sc. (electronic media) – for imparting and enhancing skills for electronic media production. Several alumni, passed out in last two decades, have occupied senior positions in prestigious organizations of television, radio, digital media and film production.

The department holds special lectures of industry experts, seminars and workshops to impart industry knowledge and practical aspects of the courses. A well-established computer lab, a newsroom and a studio are functional with the department.

Here, students are given training on pre and post-production such as shooting, editing, sound recording, video recording, camera operation, scripting, reporting and anchoring. The department has introduced the new and futuristic mode of MOJO (Mobile Journalism) for news and online media.

The application fee is Rs 300, for general and OBC applicants, and free for scheduled caste and scheduled tribe category students. They will have to pay only portal fee Rs 50. Students can submit applications in more than one course.
